Work Cover Injuries
Workers Compensation related injuries and claims can be a very confusing and complicated topic. We do accept and willingly treat Work Cover injuries.
If you have been involved in an accident at work that has resulted in an injury or if you have developed a painful condition as a result of the work you perform or your workplace environment, there are certain laws, rules and procedures to follow. You must have notified your work place of the incident, have consulted with your GP and received a medical certificate and Work Cover claim number from your insurance company.
Once you have these details, please present to us for assessment and treatment. From acute pain management right through to strength re-training, we will help you through every step while liaising with your insurance company and Doctor to make the whole experience as smooth as possible. Your invoices will be forwarded directly to your insurance company, so that all you will have to worry about is returning to pre-injury health so that you can return to work.
It is an area that is continually evolving. We know the rules and procedures associated with Workers Compensation Insurance Claims and can help make the process easy. In addition to the high level of care and treatment we provide all our patients, all our Practitioners at Spinal and Sports Care are Work Cover Accredited providers.
Third Party
If you have been involved in any type of motor vehicle accident, whether it involves a car, truck, boat or motorbike, you may or may not feel the pain of the injuries at the time of the actual accident. Injuries like cuts and broken bones are easily identified and should be treated by a medical doctor. Other types of injuries may not be visible. Pain or discomfort may develop in a day, a week, a month, a year or even longer.
At Spinal and Sports Care, we perform thorough examinations for accident victims to determine what injuries you sustained, both for the pain and discomfort you feel now and for the problems you don’t currently see and feel. We also have extensive experience working with insurance companies to properly notify them of the scope of your injuries and the course of action required in order to properly treat and correct those injuries.
We do accept and treat third party insurance claims. You must have notified your insurance company of the incident, consulted with your GP and received a medical certificate and a claim number from your insurance company.
Once you have these details, please present to us for assessment and treatment. Your invoices will be forwarded directly to your insurance company.
Medicare Extended Primary Care plans (EPC)
While Chiropractic or Physiotherapy is not covered under the Medicare in private practice, at Spinal and Sports Care we are able to provide rebates to eligible clients under the Medicare Allied Health Initiative.
In order to receive a Medicare rebate for your Chiropractic or Physio treatment, your GP must provide you with an extended primary care plan (EPC). This plan states that your condition is chronic, and that they recommend Chiropractic or Physiotherapy as a modality for management of your condition. This entitles you to a Medicare rebate, for up to 5 treatment sessions within a twelve month period.
You will be required to present your Medicare card at the time of consultation for electronic processing; it will be “Bulk Billed” so you will NOT be charged any Gap Fee for this service.
For more information about how the intiative can help you, your family or friends please do not hesitate to contact us on 02 9683 1110 or inquire online here.
