Chiropractic care is a highly effective health care profession that provides a non-invasive, drug-free approach to treating a wide range of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions, including back pain, neck pain, sciatica, joint problems, sprains, strains, osteoarthritis, herniated discs, and more. Our experienced Chiropractors at Spinal and Sports Care use a variety of manual therapies, including spinal manipulation and mobilisation, to improve function and provide pain relief for patients.
Beyond spinal manipulation, modern chiropractic care encompasses a wide range of evidence-based treatments that have been proven to be effective in managing MSK conditions. These treatments include physiologic therapeutics such as ultrasound, electrical nerve stimulation, cold laser, ESWT, and traction, as well as acupuncture and dry needling. In addition, our Chiropractors may also provide patients with home exercises, nutrition advice, and postural advice to help them self-manage their condition.
At Spinal and Sports Care, we believe in a holistic approach to healthcare, and our practitioners work closely with other members of the healthcare team to ensure that patients receive the best possible care for their condition. If chiropractic care is not suitable for a patient’s condition, or if co-management with other healthcare providers is necessary, our practitioners will readily refer patients to the appropriate healthcare provider.
Treatment is very much a partnership between you and your chiropractor. Before your treatment starts, your chiropractor will explain to you clearly:
- What they found in the examination.
- The treatment plan they propose and its duration.
- The benefits and any significant risks associated with your condition and proposed treatment.
- Informed consent for treatment.
- Whether co-management with other healthcare providers or your GP will be necessary.
Do I need to tell my GP?
At Spinal and Sports Care, we believe in working with your GP closely. This is because your GP holds all your medical records, and it is in your interests for them to be complete and up to date. So with your permission, our staff may often send a report to your GP, with details of your condition and the treatment you are receiving, so that they too are involved in your care.
