  • Bone spurs (osteophytes)
  • Spinal injuries or trauma

Risk Factors

  • Repetitive bending or heavy lifting
  • Poor posture or prolonged sitting

How Is Radiculopathy Diagnosed?

Conservative Treatment Options

Most cases of radiculopathy—especially in early stages—respond well to non-surgical treatments, including:

Physiotherapy/Chiropractic care

  • Targeted mobility and strengthening exercises
  • Postural correction and ergonomics education
  • Neural mobilisation techniques to reduce nerve irritation
  • Core stabilisation and flexibility work
  • Gentle spinal adjustments or mobilisations
  • Soft tissue release for surrounding muscle tension
  • Mechanical traction or decompression techniques (especially for disc-related causes)

Medication

  • NSAIDs (anti-inflammatories) to reduce inflammation

  • Muscle relaxants if spasms are present

  • Short-term use of oral corticosteroids in some cases
