Who we Treat
Children & Teenagers
Caring for children and teenagers is one of the most specialised areas of our clinical practice at Spinal & Sports Care. A significant part of our work involves helping young people maintain healthy movement patterns, prevent injuries, and recover safely so they can continue enjoying sport and physical activity. Many of our clinicians have completed additional postgraduate training in paediatric musculoskeletal health and adolescent sports medicine, giving them the expertise required to address the unique challenges faced during growth and development.
The human body undergoes rapid and complex changes during adolescence. Growth spurts, evolving biomechanics, increased training loads, and heightened participation in competitive sport all place unique stress on the spine, joints, muscles, and developing skeletal system. Left unaddressed, these changes can contribute to postural problems, overuse injuries, and movement dysfunction that persist into adulthood.
Our team places a strong emphasis on early detection and prevention. We routinely screen adolescents for postural imbalances, scoliosis, growth-related pain such as Osgood-Schlatter disease and Sever’s disease, overuse injuries, and sport-specific conditions affecting the knees, hips, spine, and shoulders. By identifying these issues early, we can intervene with targeted physiotherapy, chiropractic care, and exercise programs that reduce pain, restore mobility, and prevent further complications.
We also understand that every young person’s growth trajectory is different. That is why we develop personalised management plans that consider growth patterns, sporting commitments, physical development, and lifestyle factors. Our clinicians use evidence-based treatment approaches that focus on correcting biomechanics, improving movement efficiency, and supporting overall musculoskeletal health through adolescence and beyond.
Preventative care is a cornerstone of our approach. We actively promote physical literacy, encourage safe training habits, and provide education on posture, flexibility, and injury prevention. By doing so, we help young athletes stay active, perform at their best, and develop healthy habits that last well into adulthood.
At Spinal & Sports Care, we believe that supporting the physical health of children and teenagers sets the foundation for a lifetime of movement, fitness, and well-being. Our clinics provide a safe, professional, and supportive environment where families can access expert care from practitioners who understand the unique demands of growing bodies.
